When he learns that his wife died during an operation, Phibes blames her surgeons and plots an elaborate revenge to punish them for their incompetence. With the help of a mute assistant (Virginia North), Phibes creates a mask resembling his own face and murders the surgeons one by one using bizarre methods inspired by the biblical plagues.

Assisted by the beautiful Vulnavia (Valli Kemp), Phibes must retrieve a set of ancient scrolls before he can complete his plan, leading to a trek across Egypt. Among those crossing the villain's path is Darius Biederbeck (Robert Quarry), an explorer who seeks immortality. Phibes plots the deaths of his pursuers, making sure that they are dispatched in unusual and gory ways.

But soon his daughter, Susan (Lori Loughlin), and her friend Lisa (Meg Ryan) are experiencing inexplicable terrors, while his estranged wife, Nancy (Tess Harper), and supernatural expert Elliot West (Robert Joy) fear that the evil has begun to spread outside the house's walls.
8 pm ET/PT | 7 pm CT | 9 pm MTCity slicker Mick (Don Scardino) makes his way to the swampy little town of Fly Creek, Ga., to see his girlfriend, Geri (Patricia Pearcy). After meeting up with her, Mick learns that the area has recently been ravaged by intense storms. More troubling is the appearance of large worms driven up through the soil by the downpours. But what Mick, Geri and the locals don't realize is that the electricity from downed power lines has caused the worms to go mad and develop a taste for human flesh.

Despite their stupidity, the extraterrestrials become celebrities. Meanwhile, Bernard tries to pursue them after arriving in Arizona, but his claims to be an alien lead to institutionalization.
